Every time I write this, the lovely back end of my website, keeps throwing me out! Needless to say, on the third attempt I'm not all that impressed! I must get myself an Ipad so at least I can sit by the fire!
I keep forgetting to mention, several things, since the death of my Iphone, things comms wise have been a little sporadic to say the least. Its temporary replacement the HTC thing is ok - but I have been spoilt with the Iphone, so I'm a little disappointed with the launch of the not Iphone 5 but the Iphone 4Gs - but then that’s another story as you will know if you follow us on twitter!
What else do I want to tell you? Oh yes, we had a lovely trip to the Isles of Scilly last month! Lunch at Hell Bay Hotel - thanks Rolly - and a lovely sunny day to boot. We also had a chat to the lovely people at the Fore Deck on St Mary’s, which has been my favorite shop since I was a very little girl on my annual holidays to St Martins. It looks like the IOS and Chufstuf might be doing some work together for next season - nothing definite - but I will keep you posted.
Newquay Fish Festival came and went - its was ok - hello to you again if we met you there, the designs for Mud Crew a off-road running group are all finished and being printed up in the next few days. You will be able to get them from several outlets so I will keep you posted! I've tried to add an image but me and technology today are not friends so I'll get it on here tomorrow, it’s on our twitter page and on our facebook page if you can't wait till then!
Other than that its been quite a quiet September, no bad thing as I needed to remember what sleep felt like!! So I’m back with all the crashing and banging of an out of time drummer in October!
Jo x
Whatever the weather
Its sunny, then its rainy then the wind blows a hoolie! The chickens are unsure if we are in July or November and the fire is being sporadically lit and unlit! I wish something would make up its mid about what season we are in! Today we are at the stage when the fire is lit and we will be having pea soup for tea – home made of course!
It’s a quick news update this month. Falmouth Oyster Festival - we will be there but running the show rather than exhibiting – so please come and say hello – especially those of you that are local, it would be great to catch up with the gossip!
We are getting down with the charity stuff in October and doing a Village Hall show for Macmillan and Shelterbox on the 21st of October in Codes Green Village hall - £3 on the door, a chance to win Chufstuf Merchandise in the raffle and drinks and nibbles included – personally I think it’s a bargain! And with loads of other stalls a chance to get a bit of early Christmas shopping done.
November will see us sharing some stall space with our friends from Chris Hewitt Photography down in Falmouth. Every Tuesday in November at the farmers market – we will have some great gift ideas so if you are passing; you know it’s worth a visit!
December sees us at the Christmas market in Fowey your last chance to pick up Chufstuf merchandise in person – other than that its back to the website, www.chufstuf.co.uk and keep an eye on twitter and our Facebook page where we will be posting details of our festive offers!
Until next month, enjoy the sunbathing
Brrrrrrrrr!! Its cold up here!! Not to mention very wet and windy. Thankfully the fire is lit and we are toasty in here - I'm not quite so hopeful for the builders who are outside in the thick of the weather! Good job they are a hardy Cornish type!
Well I must admit to being quite slack recently at keeping the blog up-to-date, what with the launch of the company (there was a lovely story in Business Cornwall - Thanks Nick!), a few commissions for people like Mud Crew, some new designs for winter and a general need to breath in between, I've suddenly woken up this morning, realised its September, and thought right! To mark the end of one of the coldest summers I can remember, I'm going to turn over a new leaf (literally) write myself a lit and jolly well get on with it! So far today, I've written the list, but apart from eating and a long run this morning, I haven't actually got that far through it!... - but I'm hopeful that as Newquay Fish Festival is just around the corner, I'll start to gather momentum just in time to hit the weekend with a roll! Newquay Fish Festival by the way runs, from the 9th to the 11th of September down on the quay. You will find me there Friday and Saturday and Sunday, well there's a real treat, as my folks will be taking over for a day! So if you fancy a nice chat and a cup of tea get yourself down to Newquay on Sunday - I am sure they will give you a warm welcome! If you would like to see me however, you need to make it Friday or Saturday between 10 and 4pm. Charlie of course will be in attendance all weekend!
As for everything else, well it seems to be moving along! You can find our hoodies and tees in Padstow in 5degrees west, and we are on the hunt for some more suitable shops - if anyone has any suggestions please let me know! This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it That’s it for now - better get on with the list - and poke the fire!! xx
Well, so far this week could have been much better. I've just decided to eat three saffron buns in a row and I do like saffron buns - a lot - but I'm almost regretting it now. The fact that I'll have to run further later as a result is not a welcome thought either. I can still see the remains of the cardboard boxes sticking out of the office door, bathed in sun shine, waiting to be painted. However, my brain has just about seen enough lime green and rose pink to last me until I'm 60 - as that's our stand colour for the weekend -I think I need to fall back in love with it quickly! Knowing my luck, if I wait too long it will start to rain!
As well as finishing off the boxes, I've just remembered that I haven't ordered a light - so I might be pushing it to find one for Saturday, I need a money bag and I've still got stock to catalog and box before I go anywhere! My immediate solution, have a cup of tea and blow through a few songs for tonight's band practice. Unforgettably even after that the boxes are still unpainted and now it is raining!
The story that Brad Pitt has finally arrived in Falmouth, to shoot part of his new film, just in time for Falmouth week, can be found accross every type of media communications in the county. Radio pasty this morning made the mistake of asking a listener what Brad should take home for his family - as much of a fan as I am of the pasty I'm not sure that and a tin necklace is exactly what Angelina might have in mind! Perhaps we could get him in a Chufstuf hoodie if we could get close enough? Who know's? I've just let my gaze drop back to the cardboard, and I know unless I get my act together we won't be getting Chufstuf hoodies to anyone!
Putting off sometimes is good, it gives you chance to change your mind, improve your original ideas, even scrap them and start again. I need to remember its not so useful three days before our debut public appearance. On that note, with three days to go - I had better get on with it! Watch out Brad - we have you in our sights!... More tomorrow x
Its Monday the 1st of August, but I've hardly noticed, firstly that it’s a new month and secondly that it’s supposed to be summer! Rain and mist for about as far as I can see, and that's not very far! As far as Mondays go it’s been fairly typical, all the things that have been worryingly stacking up over the weekend have surfaced bringing with them a mass of unforeseen problems. Namely that it’s our first event on Saturday and the printing for the new stock - is well, in truth it hasn't started. Yes we have got stock, but nowhere near what we need for two days of productive selling. I've just about begged borrowed and literally been a complete pain in the bottom to get this far, and I'm not going to give up now!! I do feel slightly sheepish about all my words of wisdom to other people in the past about being organised - I don't take them back, but I must admit to being slightly more sympathetic now I find myself in the same position. Hopefully now we have managed to resolved the artwork issues and people will get on with doing what they are good at! fingers crossed. Talk about people doing what they should be doing - I ought to get back to getting the products on the website! More later x
